Shove Media was commissioned to produce photorealistic CGIs and verified views for a Large-scale Residential Development application in Limerick, Ireland. We created an accurate 3D model of the proposed 523-unit scheme, including houses, apartments and a crèche.
An Irish Large-scale Residential Development (LRD) is a planning process for major housing schemes—generally 100 or more homes, or student accommodation with at least 200 bed spaces. It provides a streamlined route for applying to the local planning authority, with public consultation and an opportunity for appeals to An Bord Pleanála.
For the verified views, we commissioned a photographer to take the base photos, then the surveyor went out and returned a point cloud of data, rather than the normal 20 points per photo. This new process allows for much greater accuracy in camera matching, as we had a huge range of data in the point cloud, from trees and foliage, to individual kerb stones visible.
Shove are committed to being Carbon Neutral and we want to help our customers and clients do the same by investing in Tree Planting carbon offset schemes for every project completed.
